I want to help the Apana Family during this tragic time.
Albert Apana , or "Baba" as his close friends, family and fellow Hawaiians called him, was a dedicated father and husband to his family, a hard working employee of Clark Public Utilities for the last 15 years as a Water Systems Operator and a lover of life and adventure.
On September 14th, he was tragically killed while driving in his work truck from a job site just like every day, when a " Uninsured Driver" who was speeding and trying to illegally pass another car hit him with such force that it killed him instantly. Albert was only 56 years old but everyone always assumed he was younger because he was so full of life and energy.
He loved the outdoors; snowboarding, paddle boarding, outrigger canoeing was just some of his many passions he shared with his family and friends. He had this infectious smile and a presence that lit up any room he was in. You could always count on him to crack a joke. His laugh was contagious! His heart was huge and very giving.
He had so much life left in him and he was taken away too soon.. He left behind his wife and love of his life Amy of nearly 25 years and his two beautiful children Grayson and Gabrielle that he is so proud of and the light in his life. I am reaching out to my friends and friends of friends to help this family in their time of need. Albert was his family's main provider and now his wife and kids are left alone to pay for funeral expenses and unexpected costs.
I am asking for any help, even just sharing this story for the Apana family during this extremely difficult, sudden and unexpected tragedy. I could only imagine what they are feeling trying to grieve the loss of their beloved and going through the motions. I am hoping this will be able to help a little, as they will have many financial burdens ahead them.
