Help Anuj Talk & Walk Again!
Donation protected
Dear Family & Friends,
ANUJ NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
On October 15th, I will be participating in the 2022 JDRF Death Valley Ride to Cure Diabetes bike race. Located in South California, Death Valley is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the country. This is a 100-mile race completed all in one day for a great cause: Diabetes. In addition to this cause, I wanted to make this race even more special by dedicating it to helping my cousin brother Anuj regain his ability to talk and walk again.
As some of you may already know, Anuj suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury back in April. What started out as a normal day, became the worst day of his life. He fell down the stairs at home as he was getting ready for his usual 4am workout. Since then, Anuj has been transferred to several facilities, had two brain surgeries and was in a coma for 4 months. He has been fighting for almost 6 months and continues to fight everyday – but his fight is far from over. Anuj and his family need our support now more than ever.
Unfortunately, medical care is so expensive, even with insurance, which will only cover partial bills that continue to add up. The cost of his rehab will continue to get very expensive. His care is $15,000.00 a month, which insurance is not covering! So, to help his family give Anuj the best chance for recovery, I would like your help in raising money for Anuj's therapy. He will need speech, physical, and occupational therapy for many months, if not years. We are hoping for Anuj to be able to walk and talk again as soon as possible.
For those of you who know Anuj, he is the life of the party- the center of attention- never meeting a stranger. I will never forget the first time I met him and how welcoming he was to me as a new family member. He has an insane passion and love for his family, friends, sports, and life in general. We want nothing more than to hear his voice again and to have him up and at’em with us wherever we are.
I know I speak for all of you when I say I can’t wait to hear his corny dad jokes again!! Or him scream at the top of his lungs with his “charming” southern accent for a Vols or Titans TOUCHDOWN!! Or even just for him to spend those private moments with his wife Sweeti, his 3-year-old son Sai, and the rest of his close family and friends.
Anuj is a physical therapist who has helped so many people get back on their feet. Let’s get him better so he can return to doing what he loves.
I will post pictures and update everyone as we get closer to the race, but please note that we will be accepting donations throughout the holiday season to hopefully not only meet our goal but exceed it!
We are hoping you can help - and no donation is too small. LET’S RAISE THE BAR!!!!
Please feel free to share with anyone and everyone who can help support and keep the family in your thoughts.
***Please note that all funds (except the GoFundMe fees taken by this site automatically) will go directly to helping Sweeti, Anuj, & Sai with their blessings already given to make this fundraiser in advance. If you'd like to make a completely separate donation to JDRF, please visit the race website at https://www2.jdrf.org/site/TR?fr_id=8603&pg=entry
