Hello. I am Jacob Hassert, I live in the United States, and I am once again raising funds for my esteemed friend, Antonio Coronado. He is a Venezuelan man living in Ecuador, a difficult situation in and of itself. 

In the past year since he last reached out to me for help, a looming health issue has surfaced and now threatens his life. Despite his unwavering care for his health and straight-edge lifestyle, his kidneys are failing him. As an immigrant, especially a Venezuelan immigrant, medical care is hard to come by. While the Ecuadorian government was providing some care at first, it has since ceased. His only option is to seek aid from another country. With friends waiting for him in Spain, that is where he will go. But first he must wait for his passport.

While he had worked as a tattoo artist for nearly all of his life, the pandemic introduced a new level of precarity to his line of work (and all work in general), until eventually he lost his job, unable to find a new one.

We are publishing this GoFundMe in the hopes that we can generate the funds required in order to subsist until he receives his passport, which could very well months from now.

Hola. Yo soy Jacob Hassert, vivo en los Estados Unidos, y vuelvo a recaudar fondos para mi muy querido amigo , Antonio Coronado. Él es un hombre venezolano viviendo en Ecuador, una situación que trae sus propios problemas.

En el año pasado desde que me escribió con el pedido de ayuda por la primera vez, un problema inminente de salud se ha surgido. A pesar de dedicarse a tener una buena salud y abstenerse de alcohol y tabaco, le fallan sus riñones. Como inmigrante, especialmente un inmigrante venezolano, es difícil encontrar asistencia médica. Mientras que al comienzo recibía tratamiento del gobierno ecuatoriano, este ha cesado. La última opción que le queda es trasladarse a otro país y buscar asistencia médica. Con amigos viviendo en España, quienes le esperan, allí debe mudarse. Pero primero tiene que esperar su pasaporte.

Tenía trabajo como artista de tatuajes por casi toda su vida, pero la pandemia impuso a su trabajo un nivel de precariedad, hasta que perdió su trabajo, sin posibilidad encontrar otro.

Estamos publicando este GoFundMe, con la esperanza de recaudar fondos para que pueda subsistir y sobrevivir hasta que llegue su pasaporte, una espera que puede durar hasta meses.
