Help Antonio Recover and Stay Afloat

Donation protected

My name is Antonio Mancuso, never in a million years would I ever thought I would need help
like this but I do. September 17th 2024 I was out of work due to having a very bad infection in
my lower area which spreaded all over that prevented me from being able to urinate. I was
admitted to the hospital on September 21st 2024 where I was given nothing but antibiotics to
help me get better only to find out 3 days later after a blood test I was diagnosed with MRSA.
The MRSA disease resulted in causing my bladder infection. This disease acts as a barrier that
prevents you from healing any infection which has made my recovery absolutely painful. They
gave me antibiotics to fight the MRSA, but it's preventing the progression of seeing positive
results. I caught this MRSA disease from my job because I worked in the medical waste industry
and the doctors said this is the environment where you can come across this type of disease. It
has made everything hard for me to the point I received surgery to put a catheter in my bladder
because I was no longer able to urinate regularly. The catheter is extremely uncomfortable and
stressful resulting in the disease becoming stagnant in my body. I feel like everything is getting
worse the longer this disease remains in my system.
October 4th I was let go from the hospital and was told to continue my recovery at home and to
remain out of work until January 2025. I kept my job informed throughout the time I have been in
the hospital. I filed for a leave of absence from my job on October 5th. That same day in the
afternoon they contacted me to say they can’t hold my spot that long. They denied my leave of
absence and terminated me from my job after the doctors wrote them a letter stating I am very
sick and will need 3 months to recover. I am physically incapable of working right now. I got
approved for short term disability only to find out it covers me until November 7th because the
job let me go and denied my leave of absence. Pennsylvania is an at will state which means
they can let you go from your job for whichever reason they see fit. This action that my job took
towards me as their employee put me in a difficult position.
I'm going through it mentally and physically. I'm worried and scared on how I am going to be
able to survive until January and I’ve never asked for help in my life. Never in my life have I ever
asked for help like this, but I am extremely in need of any supportive donation to help me stay
afloat with my bills that include my water, rent, electric, car and food. I don’t expect anything
from anyone, but anything right now would help me immensely. I would be eternally grateful for
any donation. I never needed help like this before, but I am here now swallowing my pride and asking for any support.

Thank you for hearing my story.
