Hey everyone,

I’m Anton May, a Black queer neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist from Montreal. Over the past few years, I've been creating theatre that highlights Black queer voices, hosting bilingual events, and building community through my art.

Since August, it's been a bit tough to keep up with rent and my phone bill. I've been managing, though—often skipping meals and groceries—thanks to some MC and stand-up gigs and my last project, Our Place with Black Theatre Workshop, which covered September and October. But with bi-weekly pay schedules and delayed invoices, I'm facing a “Dry December” with no income. The little bit I earned from a recent gig went towards groceries, but I'm still behind on November and December rent and other essential bills.

It's not easy for me to ask for help. I know others are struggling too, and I spend so much time helping others that I often forget to take care of myself. But right now, I need to lean on my community to get through this season. I'm trying to raise $3,000 to cover immediate needs so I can stay housed and fed through the winter. This support would help ease my debt and give me the stability to make it into the new year. The good news is I have guaranteed income from projects starting in January and February.

With a bit of help, I can bridge this gap and enter the new year with less stress and renewed energy to keep creating and contributing. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
