Help Anton Fight Leukemia
As some of you may know, Anton was brought into the St. Lukes Emergency Department on Sunday March 31st. For what his parents (Becky & Gus) thought was strep and some asthma issues.
Bloodwork was done at St. Lukes where they found out that Anotons' white blood count was 400 thousand. Normal count for his age is 10 thousand on average. Anton was then transferred to St. Mary's- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
On Sunday Anton and his parents got the news that no family wants to receive. Anton was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia which is also known as Child AML. Child AML is a type of blood cancer and answered the questions of why his white blood count was extremely high.
Anton has already undergone 3 surgeries/procedures and has had 4+ rounds of chemotherapy, that number will continue to rise through his strong fight against leukemia.
Anton has 3 other siblings plus mom and dad, which makes them a happy family of 6. Anton is in 5th grade at South Ridge School. He is involved in wrestling with the Cloquet District and has done this for the past 7 years and continuing. He is also apart of a 4-H club. At home he loves to help on the family farm as well as four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
During this time both Becky and Gus will be spending much of their time with Anton in the hospital and when he gets out of the hospital. On top of that, still taking care of their other 3 children and managing the family farm. With that being said Becky and Gus will be away from work and will also have many travel expenses to and from the hospital now, along with upcoming doctors appointments when Anton goes home, along with bills each month.
Anton has already shown us his strength and bravery through this tough time and will continue to fight day in and day out.
On this journey ahead of them they need our support.
Everything contributed will go directly to this wonderful family to help with the unknown expenses to come, travel, as well as helping with bills as they will both be away from work often.
