Last weekend, what started as a normal night with friends turned into a nightmare. In a split second, a “dud” firework exploded in Anthony’s hands and face—shattering his left hand, burning his right, and leaving him unable to use either hand at all. Now, he faces months of pain, surgeries, and therapy just to regain basic independence.

On the night of 8/9/2025, Anthony was with friends when they came across a mortar that appeared to be a dud. It tragically exploded, destroying his left hand and severely burning his right. Emergency surgery was performed to reconstruct his hand and thumb, but part of his thumb and middle finger were lost. Shrapnel had to be removed from his arm, and stitches were placed throughout his injuries.

Anthony currently has no mobility in either hand. The pain is constant, but he is doing his best to stay strong. He faces a long road of hospital care, follow-up procedures, and intense physical therapy.

To make matters more difficult, his mom Ashley—lost her job because she needed to take time off to care for him. Anthony will need help with eating, dressing, and everyday tasks for months. With no income coming in and medical bills piling up, we are asking for help to cover:

Medical bills and surgery costs

Rehabilitation and physical therapy

Essential living expenses during recovery

Lost income due to caregiving
