Anthony was seriously injured on his way to work at ACU5 on the Camp Pendleton Base on Friday, September 29th, 2023. Anthony was riding his motorcycle when another driver entered into his lane hitting him broadside and ejecting him from his motorcycle. Anthony sustained a broken knee, hip, pelvis, multiple ribs, Torn PCL, 3 brain bleeds, internal bleeding, compromised lungs, a laceration almost clear through his tongue, along with lacerations all over his body. An initial emergency surgery was performed where they were able to stabilize Anthony, after which he was sent to the ICU until he is strong enough to perform the additional extensive surgery(s) that he will need. While in the ICU he developed an infection in his lungs at which time he was placed on a ventilator. This has complicated Anthony's situation and postponed future surgeries.

To say that this has been a difficult time for Anthony and his family would be an understatement. Anthony is a loving and devoted husband to his wife Aja and a father of their 7-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. Aja has not left his side since the accident leaving the temporary care of their small children to family who have come from out of town to help.

My name is Amber and I am Aja's sister. I am setting up this Gofundme page to ask for help while they navigate this life changing event. The other driver was under insured, with just the bare minimum coverage required by law, which will leave much of the financial burden on Anthony and Aja. We do not yet know how long Anthony's recovery will be but do know it will be extensive. Anthony and Aja will need help covering out of pocket expenses for their young family.
