My name is Alfredo, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support during one of the most painful and unexpected times our family has ever faced.
On June 12th — his daughter’s 10th birthday — my brother Anthony was rushed to the hospital. What started as a simple earache quickly turned into severe headaches and confusion. We never imagined it would lead to the diagnosis of a 33mm abscess in his right temporal lobe — a serious and life-threatening condition.
Instead of celebrating his daughter’s special day, Anthony was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center for emergency brain surgery. On June 14th, doctors operated to remove the abscess and relieve the pressure on his brain.
We’re beyond grateful that the surgery was successful and that his condition has gone from life-threatening to stable. But the fight is not over. He is now undergoing an 8-week course of intravenous antibiotics to ensure the infection is fully cleared — a treatment that requires constant medical monitoring, equipment, and care. The financial toll has been devastating, especially with him unable to work during this recovery period.
It’s heartbreaking to see someone you love go through this — especially on what should have been a day filled with joy, cake, and laughter with his little girl. Instead, she spent her birthday worried about her dad’s life.
We’re doing all we can, but we can’t carry this weight alone. If you’re able to help — through a donation, by sharing this fundraiser, or simply by keeping him in your thoughts — it would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your compassion, your support, and your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
