It’s with a heavy heart that I share the story of Ace — a loyal, loving, and brave companion — and his human, Anthony, who now faces one of the hardest goodbyes of his life.

Ace, Anthony’s best friend and faithful dog, was recently diagnosed with a rare tick-borne disease. Despite every effort to treat him and bring him back to health, the disease has progressed too far, and Anthony is now faced with the heartbreaking decision to put Ace to rest so he no longer suffers.

Ace has been more than just a pet — he’s been Anthony’s shadow, his comfort, his daily reason to smile. They’ve been through thick and thin together, and the bond they share is something truly special. Losing Ace isn’t just losing a dog — it’s losing family.

As anyone who’s faced the loss of a beloved pet knows, saying goodbye comes with not only emotional pain, but also financial burdens. Between emergency care, and the costs of end-of-life services, things have become overwhelming.
