Hello! My name is Anthony, and I am a 20-year-old student from Williamsburg, Virginia.
After graduating high school, I was unsure of what I wanted to pursue, and at the time, I didn't think attending college of any sort was possible for me due to being financially independent. Despite this challenge, I enrolled at Virginia Peninsula Community College and became the first person in my family to go away to college. While enrolled at VPCC, many of my costs were covered by federal aid in the form of need-based grants, so I primarily covered the cost of books and transportation. In December of 2025, I graduated with academic honors from VPCC with an Associate's degree in Social Science and a Uniform Certificate of General Studies.
I have since transferred to Virginia Tech to pursue a Bachelor's degree in National Security & Foreign Affairs, with a Minor in Italian. However, compared to VPCC, my costs are significantly higher here at VT. I have accepted all forms of federal loans and aid, as well as any school scholarships and grants. Unfortunately, they are not enough to cover expenses like housing, food, and books. While I thoroughly enjoy my studies at Virginia Tech, the costs threaten my ability to continue to attend and learn. And it is for this reason that I am asking for donations towards such expenses. Donations will go towards expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, books, and other school supplies. I appreciate any and all donations and can assure that funds will only be used appropriately and responsibly.
If you would like to donate another way or contribute directly to my student account, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Anthony Savage
