Hello friends. I am opening a GoFundMe for my friend Anthony in Gulu, Uganda. Anthony is a nurse working at LaCor St. Mary’s Hospital in Gulu. I am one of several physicians who has worked with Anthony each of the past several years as part of a medical mission foundation out of Lenexa, Kansas, to perform surgical services on needy patients. Anthony volunteers his time for our team and serves as a coordinating nurse, translator, and community support. We couldn’t accomplish our mission without him. He is an energetic young man with a nursing degree, who has visions to help the community that he serves. Even though he is employed, his salary is minimal. He is building his own home out of homemade bricks, lots of labor, and a future desire to have a family. There are many steps that are required to build his home, but he is meticulously accomplishing them. He has been at this now for several years. My hope is that this GoFundMe can help Anthony build his home sooner. It takes an extremely long time to accomplish each construction step, so this next step, which is plumbing the house and bringing in a toilet, would facilitate his eventual move-in. The overall cost in US dollars of this is about $800. I will be opening a special account at my local bank in Belfast, Maine, to receive the funds, and then transfer the funds to him via Western Union.
