Help Anthony Beat Stage 4 Melanoma Brain Cancer

Donation protected

In July 2018 Anthony found out he had the deadliest form of skin cancer, Stage 3c Melanoma.  After surgeries he was NED (no evidence of disease).   With what he thought was behind him he began to rebuild and love life to a greater degree. Unfortunately, one year later the cancer has returned to his BRAIN!!  He has over 20 tumors.  The one that impacted his eye sight is seen in this scan.

Two days before Labor Day Anthony lost some of his vision in his left eye. He went to the Kellogg Eye Institute in Ann Arbor, MI and it was determined that there was nothing wrong with his eye.

From that appointment on Friday he was sent to the University of Michigan hospital for an MRI. At 3 o’clock in the morning the doctor walked in to inform us that he had over 20 brain tumors and that they would be admitting him. It was such a devastating blow to both of us to learn.  While in the hospital it was determined that the cancer had also spread into areas near his lungs. The beast came back fast and furious.

After spending Labor Day weekend in the hospital and learning the devastating news Anthony is as upbeat and positive as he can be. He is determined to beat the cancer!

Anthony has completed 10 days of full brain radiation and has been approved for the second phase of treatment. He will be again a two-drug immunotherapy therapy regiment that will take a physical toll on his body.  Anthony is very thankful for his doctors at the University of Michigan melanoma clinic. He feels he’s in very good hands with his oncologist Dr. Lao.  At this time because of the brain tumors and the pet scan that showed bleeding around the brain tumor the doctors have advised him not to travel by air or drive.

The physical toll of the treatments and financial burden this is placing on our family is tremendous. Due to the fact that Anthony is self-employed, vacation or sick pay is not an option.  He has spent his career traveling around the world and the United States working with companies to improve quality performance. However, with the cancer in the brain he is unable to travel or even drive.

As you can imagine, this condition has taken not only a physical toll but also a financial burden. We exhausted our savings last year during the first go around.  This time the financial burden has put such a weight on his shoulders. With the lack of ability to work, the hospital costs, the prescriptions, the cost of deductibles, and surgery the bills are beginning to pile up.

We are thankful for all of the people that have supported us with prayers, picking him up and taking him to treatment, and even bringing us dinners.  We are eternally grateful for all those that have shown us love and kindness.

All donations will go directly into Anthony’s account so he will be able to combat costs of deductibles, treatment out of pocket expenses and living expenses so he can focus on the most important thing - getting healthy.
