UPDATE 10/3/25: Ant saw his vet today and was incredibly brave. He had x-rays and LUCKILY surgery is not necessary. However, he will be on strict rest for the next few weeks, along with a couple painkillers and an antibiotic for his allergy rash. I've never been more thankful for a soft tissue injury, but my poor boy is still not wanting to walk at all.
I've lowered the needed cost to just pay back some of what I've borrowed and what I had to max out on my card!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, offered love and support, and just generally been fantastic.
Hey all, some of you know Ant’s story and for those of you who don’t- He was a bottle baby who I have taken care of since the very start. He has battled being abandoned by his mother, severe pneumonia, dog aggression, severe allergies, and more.
He has been a challenge and an absolute gift and an honor to raise, and together we have fought hard to make his life a good one.
Unfortunately, though we aren’t sure how yet, he has severely injured his right back leg to the point of dragging and putting no pressure on it. His vet had prescribed him painkillers a couple months ago for what we thought was a mild pulled muscle in the same leg. I fear that it may be much more severe.
This year, I’ve lost my eldest dog and had a pile of vet bills for my next oldest due to arthritis and bone spurs. Ant’s allergy meds and my other dog’s pain management are already quite expensive and I am out of work due to being quite severely disabled a bit less than a year ago.
Resources are unfortunately tight.
Any little bit helps.
My first goal is for the office visit and X-rays. His appointment is scheduled for Friday the 3rd in the morning.
After that, goal will be updated pending the findings. Please please share.
