“When given an opportunity, deliver excellence and never quit.” - american filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. Excitedly happy to report that I have been blessed with the acceptance into the Career Edge Program with NYU over the summer. For a week in July, I will hopefully be learning more about the technical aspects of filmmaking hands on. Because I am an out of state student, I have to pay for not just tuition but for housing and unfortunately the university does not give scholarships for one week programs. NYU is one of my dream schools and to be able to live on campus and learn from their great advisors and professors will give me experience that I need to be a competitive film student. Recently I’ve been working very hard to inform myself about every aspect of film, film production and the film industry. In the future, I want to be an environmental documentarian, working to create films that change the minds of people everywhere on how they treat the planet. This program will help me gain a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of this digital art form, including lens usage, light metering techniques, blocking, and professional conventions. This could lead to some really big things for me and I need all the help I can get. If you could share or donate just a little bit anything could help.
