My friend Anselem Moutah is a hardworking Nigerian immigrant who has been doing everything he can to build a stable life here in Colorado.
We serve as Eucharistic ministers at the 5 pm mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Parish in Aurora. We have been serving together for the last 4 years.
He recently purchased a used car for $2,000. It is essential for getting to work, supporting himself, and staying connected to his community, especially at Queen of Peace.
Just a few months later, the car suffered a major engine failure. The repair estimate came back at $2,000, the same amount he paid for the car.
The car is drivable at about 25 mph. Now his commute to work is twice as long. He has to drive with the hazard lights on and other drivers are honking at him!
Anselem shows up, works hard, and keeps moving forward with humility and gratitude. He is a joyful and prayerful man. But right now, he needs a community around him.
Why We’re Raising Funds
Instead of putting $2,000 into a failing vehicle, we want to help Anselem purchase a reliable used car that won’t leave him stranded again.
A dependable car is not a luxury for him. It’s the difference between keeping his job, getting to appointments, and maintaining stability for his life.
Our Goal: $6,500
This amount will help cover:
• A reliable used car ($4,000–$6,000)
• Taxes, title, and registration
• Insurance costs
• A small buffer for reliable maintenance
Every dollar helps. Truly.
Why This Matters
When people move to this country, small setbacks can become major barriers. But the opposite is also true: small acts of generosity can change the entire trajectory of someone’s life.
If you’re able to give, thank you. If you’re able to share this campaign, thank you. Your support will help Anselem continue building the life he’s working so hard for.
Thank you for helping us surround him with the kind of community everyone deserves.
