Help Anon Black Tufts Student In Need
Donation protected
Hey y’all . For those who may see this I am a queer woman senior at Tufts and unfortunately due to personal reasons it’s safest to remain anonymous beyond that. I didn’t think 2020 would get me this bad but here we are!
For the past year or so, including pre-COVID, my mental and physical health has severely depleted. My goal this year was to just push through and graduate so I can finally have time to properly take care of myself. However, I wasn’t able to wait any longer to start therapy, and based on how those sessions have gone I’m also soon to see a psychiatrist and will possibly start having to pay for my medication as well. Despite making these efforts to help myself, It’s still greatly offset by how much I’ve been trying to work to support myself through senior year. I’m not on a meal plan and I severely underestimated how much it would take to keep up with the costs of groceries and meals on a weekly basis. I am also responsible for paying my own health and phone bills, including the cost of therapy, which is simply not sustainable on the inconsistent, salaried school job I have now.
Additionally, I suffer from herniated discs in my lower back which greatly affect me on a daily basis and have been exacerbated as a result of sustained positions on my computer since we have switched over to virtual environments due to COVID. I’ve luckily been able to see a chiropractor but I was told upfront that for any real sustained pain relief I would have to continue to go back for a few sessions and continue to cover the copayment every time. Unfortunately, my family is not in a position to support me through these problems financially, leaving me no choice but to turn outward for help finishing my senior year with some semblance of peace.
I’d really love to be able to finish my senior year without worsening my health any further. As a senior, it is also imperative that I have something to start from once I graduate next spring being that returning home to rely on family for support is not an option. I’ve included a breakdown of the cost of everything and tried to include a small buffer for meds once I know how much they cost! Thank you for reading this far and donating/ sharing this post!
