Hi everyone!

My name is Annika Blackburn, and I’m a passionate percussionist currently studying at the University of Tennessee. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted to attend the Sandbox Percussion Summer Seminar, an intensive, world-class workshop for aspiring percussionists hosted by the renowned ensemble Sandbox Percussion in New York City!

This opportunity means the world to me. For one week this summer, I’ll get to immerse myself in advanced chamber music, collaborate with like-minded musicians, receive mentorship from some of the most innovative percussionists working today (not to mention 6-time Grammy-nominated composer Andy Akiho), and perform cutting-edge repertoire. It’s a transformative experience that will shape me both artistically and professionally. I'll be able to work alongside members of Sandbox Percussion, Andy Akiho, and other extremely talented percussionists from across the globe.

As a student, the cost of tuition, travel, and lodging adds up. That’s why I’m reaching out to my community for support. The total cost of tuition with room and board is $1,662. (Tuition being $1,140 and a provided dorm being $522). Every contribution — no matter how small — will help make this dream possible. If you can’t donate, sharing this page is just as valuable.
