Help Asheville's Annie's Bakery Keep Our Team Together After Hurricane Helene
As you may know, Hurricane Helene has devasted our region. Our staff of 25, who are spread across Asheville and nearby communities, has been severely affected by the storm. Many are facing loss of power, water, and property damage. Without water, our bakery is unable to operate, and the uncertain timeline for safe water or road access has brought us to a halt.

We are asking for your help to directly support our incredible team during this difficult time. Our number one priority is to keep our staff afloat, helping them stay safe and healthy while they wait for insurance claims and relief efforts to come through—things we know can take much longer than anticipated.

After The Storm
After several days without any cell phone service or internet, we were finally able to check up on our team and make sure they were safe. Once the roads were passable, a dedicated core crew went to work clearing out all the bread from our freezers. They made numerous donations throughout the community, resulting in thousands of loaves, buns, and rolls given to those in need. While we know our impact was just a small one, we did our best to help.

Why We Need Your Help
While we wait for solutions, we’re asking for financial support that will go directly to our staff. These funds will help cover essential living expenses, such as groceries, drinking water, temporary housing, and utilities. Frankly, we know that many others are more in need than us, but every donation helps ensure that our team can stay safe and healthy while they recover from the storm.

For the Love of Bread
At Annie’s Bakery, we have proudly been baking for Western North Carolina for over 20 years. We know that fellow bakers and bread enthusiasts understand the importance of quality ingredients—especially water. It’s the key to creating the perfect loaf, and until we have a safe, clean supply, we cannot operate.

Efforts to Reopen
We will do everything possible to reopen Annie’s Bakery as soon as the time is right. Whether our water supply is repaired, tested and safe or by bringing in outside water, we have the equipment and skills to serve Asheville again. But right now, the immediate need is to make sure our staff are supported while we get back on our feet.

A major concern is that without support, some of our close-knit team may be forced to leave Asheville. We want to keep our incredible team together so that when we reopen, we can continue to serve our community with the same passion and dedication.

Stay Updated
We will keep everyone updated on the status of the water crisis, our reopening plans, and how your donations are making a difference. Thank you for your generosity, and please share this campaign with your friends, family, and anyone who can help.

Thank You - The Annie's Team
