Helloooooo… I’m Annie Cherry, a performing and visual artist, specializing in variety shows and original character entertainment. I am a producer, emcee, vocalist, clown, burlesque champion, officiant, and more.
As well as performing in various shows and events in Kansas City, I also produce a weekly cabaret showcase featuring a diversity of humans performing a variety of skills and talents. That show is about to have its 5th anniversary, and has become a staple of KC nightlife.
Having adequate equipment to work is essential to my career as a performing artist, producer of live theatre, and visual artist. The ten year old iPad Pro I’ve been working from is now obsolete and cannot be updated. The apps have ceased to function, and I can’t trade it in towards a new one due to its age and a few cracks in the corner. I do not own a computer.
Being able to get up to date gear would mean the world to me. For the past several months I’ve been doing all the things it takes to produce live variety theatre from my phone.
This includes:
-music editing
-video editing
-all promotions
-creating submission forms
-collating submission forms into tech sheets
-editing photographs
-all correspondence
-various other production related and administrative tasks
-other miscellaneous things I am probably forgetting, because producing shows involves man moving parts!
I feel that, in some ways, the lack of adequate functional equipment is causing my work (and my eyes) to suffer.
Please (if you can) help me continue to make art, fundraise for worthy causes, and (hopefully) inspire others to do the same. I will always pay it forward.
Thank you for your time, attention, and donation.
With so much love and gratitude to my community,
Annie
