I recently learned that Annie, the amazing woman who has been at our corner of Colusa and Fairmont at a small humble friendly place called American Nails  giving pedicures and spreading goodwill for many years, was mugged near her home in Oakland in what she and everyone else thinks was a crime of Asian hate.


Nothing stolen, she was just beaten up. Her face is bashed and her arm is broken. This is a wonderful and hardworking human being I've really loved for 10 years who just came back to her salon after the most stressful and vulnerable year. This is beyond awful. I'm so angry and I'm heartbroken. I'd really like to support her, because the last thing she needs now is to lose income. This is hyperlocal, but please: If you're interested in contributing  for a person who was mugged, would you let me know? Is there something else we can do here in El Cerrito? This makes me so sad.
