This woman and ray of light is my sister and best friend. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2022 and has been leaving no stone unturned to advocate for and navigate her healing.

She (and I) learned in May 2021 we have a BRCA2 gene mutation and have been screened closely since. This is how Annie was diagnosed, as she is in early stages and wouldn’t have known otherwise. Because of the gene, the treatment offered in Canada is invasive and aggressive including removing all reproductive organs. Annie & Nigel are newlyweds (July 2021) and long to have a family of their own. This is the reason they are choosing an integrative and non-toxic approach to treatment, which includes many therapies not covered by insurance. They have been making it through for the past many months but are struggling to continue. Her treatment is working, Im grateful to say she is making ground.
