Help Annie out of unexpected Medical Debt

Hey everyone! Sonia here. Recently Annie was suffering from some pretty serious Crohn's disease related complications. Scary stuff! Her symptoms were pretty gnarly and I'll save you the details, but there was lots of bleeding where bleeding shouldn't be and discomfort and generally just not good stuff happening. We were very scared/concerned, since the symptoms were pretty extreme and unfamiliar! We followed the doctors advice, tried a bunch of meds to help, nothing was working so we decided to go in to get a colonoscopy to take a look around and make sure there wasn't any cancer or other scary things in her guts. As good responsible adults, we pay for decent health insurance, but turns out ...because we live in a country with a messed up system, that it didn't cover anything :(!!!! So we got stuck with a wonderful $6000 bill. We were never informed that her gastro, who has been in our network for years, was no longer in our network (thanks Northern Light).

This is a crazy amount of money that we just can't swing paying off on our own (we already spent $2000 to cover the estimated cost, thinking that was going to be the full amount...surprise it wasn't). So if you have it in your wallet and especially in your hearts, we'd love some help digging out of this hole (lol pun intended).
