Help Annie Obtain a Mobility Dog

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

I am reaching out to share my story and ask for your help. Due to several health conditions, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and asthma, my mobility is severely limited. I rely on a wheelchair for assistance, and my independence depends on having a trained mobility service dog.

Currently, I have a service dog, Bella, who has been by my side for many years. However, she is nearing retirement, and as much as I love her, she is no longer able to assist with the tasks I now need. My physical health has declined over time, and Bella wasn’t trained to help with the specific tasks I require. While I wish she could continue working as my service dog, it’s time for her to retire, and I need a new dog to step into her shoes.

K9s for Mobility has a new dog available in early June!

I’m excited to share that the program K9s for Mobility has a dog that they believe would be an amazing fit for me. He is a black lab named Jimmy, who was recently returned to the program—not due to any fault of his own—and he’s already proven to be an incredible dog. Jimmy fits all the needs I have and is ready to assist with tasks like picking up dropped items, providing counterbalance as I walk, opening and closing doors, and much more.

This dog will be ready for placement in early June, and I need to complete the necessary funding by the end of his two-week training program—around June 14th.

I need $4,000 by June 14, 2025

The cost for a fully trained mobility dog is $7,500. Thanks to the generosity of Wyoming Independent Living and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, I have received $3,500 in donations, for which I am incredibly grateful. However, I still need $4,000 to cover the full cost.

I currently have a job, and I am saving as much as I can, but I am on a tight timeline. If I do not raise the remaining amount in time, this amazing dog will be sent to someone else, and I will have to wait another year for a new mobility dog.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to regaining my independence and continuing to live a fulfilling life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you can provide.
