My mom passed away on August 14th, 2025, at the age of 77. Grief is hard enough, but the end of Mom's life has not been a peaceful one. Mom was removed from her living arrangements due to allegations of elder abuse. After spending a week in respite care, she was moved to a nursing home, only to be moved to hospice because the nursing home wasn't feeding her. Thank God for the Hospice House for stepping in. But it was a tragic experience for Mom & me.

After Mom passed, the medical examiner stepped in & took her body due to the investigation on elder abuse. This is where she currently lies in wait.

I've been denied assistance to have her cremated. I live on SSDI & make $14 too much per month. I've spent the last 2 weeks searching for ways to put my mom's body to rest & allow me some peace of mind & some closure. There is no assistance. It's very difficult for me to ask for help with this, but I have tried every other avenue. Any assistance you are able to provide is very much appreciated & no donation is too small. It will go directly to the Cremation Society of Iowa who will be cremating Mom & putting her body to rest.
