If you know my sister Kym, you know how big her heart is — especially when it comes to animals. She volunteers with a local search and rescue group, spending countless hours helping families find their lost dogs. Whether it’s raining, snowing, or late at night, she never gives up until those dogs are safely home. She’s one of the most caring and dedicated people you could ever meet.
And right beside her is Jim, who’s always willing to help out — especially with Annie, Kym’s “Velcro dog” who never lets her out of sight. Jim has been there every step of the way, helping care for her and supporting Kym through it all. Reassuring her everything is going to be ok even though we know he’s just as worried.
Annie isn’t even two years old yet, but she’s already facing some serious challenges. She has severe arthritis and old meniscus injuries in both of her back legs that healed incorrectly. Her bones have started to fuse together, making it painful for her to move and play like a young dog should.
The orthopedic surgeon plans to operate to fix and stretch the meniscus and help correct the bone fusion, giving Annie the chance to live comfortably again. The estimate is around $6,000 for one leg, and she’ll eventually need surgery on both, followed by physical therapy, medications, recovery suit , help me up harness, physical therapy and recovery care.
We’re hoping to raise enough to lessen the burden for Kym and Jim, who already give so much of themselves to help others. Even if we can’t cover it all, any bit helps — even money toward just one of the surgeries would make a big difference.
Let’s come together to show Kym and Jim how much they’re appreciated for everything they do for the community — and help Annie get back on her paws where she belongs.
Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and support. Every share and every dollar truly makes a difference.
