Help Annie, Caitlin, & Banjo!

Thanks so much for checking this out and reading the following... My name is Carrie and my friends Annie, Caitlin, and Banjo experienced a horrific attack on Thursday, March 30th.

Annie took Banjo outside for his morning potty at their apartment complex. While she was outside walking Banjo around, two large dogs broke through their apartment screen door and brutally attacked Banjo and Annie. Annie fought them off like the amazingly strong badass she is, but Banjo is still struggling to survive.

Banjo sustained so many wounds and lost so much blood that his prognosis was very dire. No one expected him to still be waging his tail every time he sees his moms! They rushed him to Appleton where he is currently under the care of the Animal Medical Center. Annie and Caitlin have been able to visit periodically and we’re all so grateful for the care he is receiving. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for Monday 4/3 and we anticipate his medical care will cost approximately $10k+. There will be a very long recovery road ahead of all of them.

Annie also sustained injuries while surviving the attack and had to spend time being evaluated in the emergency room. She hit her head and hurt her shoulder. She has bite marks on her hands and more bruises than we can count. She truly is an amazing warrior for fighting off two very large dogs and saving her boy Banjo!

Big thanks to the neighbors that assisted and made sure the police were on the scene right away. After the attack, we learned the two dogs are not up to date on their vaccinations and Annie may have to undergo the rabies prevention procedure.

It has been a truly horrific and terrifying experience for everyone involved and we know the cost to save Banjo is very expensive, not to mention Annie’s healthcare, and both Annie and Caitlin having to miss work.

I can’t imagine enduring something like this and how stressful it must be to process the experience, help Banjo survive, and heal yourself… all while worrying about how to afford these bills and what’s to come!
