Help Annette Fight

Having survived ten surgeries in the last twelve months due to Ovarian Cancer, it is safe to say that Annette’s team of doctors weren’t so sure she’d still be here. But against all odds, radiation and chemotherapy treatments, she is here - alive and CANCER FREE. That’s the amazing news. The not-so-amazing news is that she is still fighting for her life!

The cancer treatments have left her organs badly damaged. Currently, she is battling kidney failure. She has exhausted all of her sick and annual leave at her job, and her mounting medical bills - especially her co-payments for treatment - are overwhelming. And if that is not enough, she is in jeopardy of losing her home - her safe space.

It is important to note that Annette’s take-away from this challenging experience has been nothing short of humbling. In her words, “Cancer has been a mirror held up in front of me. It has forced me to take a good look at myself and bluntly ask, where are you going? It has made me redefine my priorities.... giving me the vision to see Angels walking amongst us - touching my life more profoundly than I ever dreamed possible. Cancer has made me redefine the impossible...and having done so; nothing will ever be the same again. It will be better, I'm claiming it! Even though Cancer is an isolating, frightening, and lonely disease, I wake up each day thankful; thankful for this life because I know that someone somewhere else is still fighting to survive.
