UPDATE:

Alina passed away in the early hours of March 1st, 2026. She is now free from pain and can be at peace. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Annette has been my best friend for over 20 years, and her family has always welcomed me as one of their own. Her mother, Alina, is a warm and loving person who always made sure everyone felt at home—her cooking was my favorite, and she promised to make me something special the next time I visited once she was feeling better. Sadly, that next time will not come, as Alina is now in her final weeks of life due to an aggressive cancer spreading through her body.

Annette and her parents currently live in Fort Myers, Florida, while Annette's sister and the rest of their extended family live in New Jersey. Her sister has taken time off work to be with her mother, father, and Annette during this incredibly difficult time. When Alina passes, her body will need to be transported back to New Jersey so she can be laid to rest among loved ones. This process, along with funeral expenses, travel for Annette, her father, and their pets, outstanding medical bills, and lost income for Annette's sister, has placed a tremendous financial burden on the family.

Annette has been my one lasting friendship since childhood, and her family means the world to me. I want to do everything I can to help them through this heartbreaking time.
