Hi, my name is Anne. I suffer from/deal with multiple medical issues, but it's my Crohn's Disease that has been the very worst most recently. I need infusion treatments to get it under control, to better my health. I also need to get my body healed enough for a future surgery that is on hold because of the flare of Crohn’s.
My physicians say that my getting infusions is vital to my getting better. Especially considering some of my other medical problems are dependent on me getting better, so I can go through with more surgery for my abdominal injury. Not getting this under control is pushing that date further into the future, and putting it off puts me at risk for emergency abdominal surgery. It's really messy, and complicated,
Unfortunately, I haven't been in remission for years, and things have taken a turn for the worse and it is time to take some serious steps. But, I can't afford to take the necessary steps and nothing else medicine wise works anymore. Which, is why I need you!!
After exploring all other financial aid options to receive the medication that I need (both through Kaiser and through Inflectra's financial aid program), it's become clear that I need to reach out to get help with the finances to get my first infusion. All and any help is appreciated more than you can know.
Because I have Medicare (though I do not have part D, which includes infusions), I do not qualify for retroactive financial aid, which would allow me to start my infusions asap, and because my medical bills are not super high, because I haven't started the infusions, I do not qualify for the medical financial aid to actually get my first infusion.
I am hopeful that you all can help me reach my goal of $2700 to receive my FIRST dose of Infleximab. Then, I will hopefully be able to take it from there without needing further fundraising help if I get the financial aid (full coverage of treatments) from Kaiser. Unfortunately the financial aid is not retroactive, so I cannot ask for a loan, but a handout. Just know it is very much appreciated and will provide a great deal of relief.
The funds will go towards the initial infusion.
