Hi, my name is Annabelle Otto and I'm a senior at Hope College in Holland, MI. It's been a wild ride so far and I've cultivated many of my passions. The support system here is amazing and when my professor told me I belonged in the world of literature, I knew I had to study Creative Writing! I've discovered that I want to become a Children's Librarian so I can show kids the wonder of reading and writing.
Freshman year, I studied in the Phelps Scholars Program, which teaches students about our increasingly diverse world and how to engage with people of different backgrounds. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my college career! Over the years I continued to dive into my interests and studies, maintaining a high GPA (and a good amount of sleep at the same time). My watercolors have been published in the literary/art magazine on campus, Opus, and I even had the honor of having one published as the front cover!
Hope has been full of wonder, opportunity, and support but now I need your help too. Circumstances have changed; I now need $7000 to finish my spring semester. I am so close to graduation I can taste it! Any amount would be a triumph. I'm also applying for a loan and any scholarships I find online. And hey, if you want me to bake you some cookies or clean your house, I would totally do it if it meant your help in supporting my education.
