Help Annabel Get The Medical Care She Needs

My name is Chris Peters. I serve as an Elder at Mark's church, Epikos, and I'm raising funds to help pay for medical bills for his daughter, Annabel Deering. 100% of all funds raised will go to the Deering family to help pay for out-of-pocket past and future medical bills related to her care. Below is a brief description of what Annabel has been through and why the Deerings need help to pay for medical bills.

Annabel was hospitalized several times in the Fall of 2024 after a pneumonia infection caused some neurological issues. This created significant nerve pain in her back and legs, and left her unable to bear any weight on her legs, or even sit for long periods of time. After months of outpatient therapy at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin with very little progress, her medical team agreed that an intensive inpatient therapy program was her best option for a full recovery.

As Annabel’s home state of Wisconsin does not offer a Pediatric rehab program for her needs, her medical team referred her to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she was admitted on March 2nd, 2025, and will receive intensive therapy for 2-3 weeks. The Deerings have limited health insurance benefits, which will not provide coverage for this kind of rehab out of state. But they are trusting that this is what Annabel needs and that God will provide for her physical healing and whatever it takes to get there. She has already made great progress after one week and has transitioned from a full-time wheelchair to walking with a walker!

Annabel runs cross country, plays basketball, and is a theater kid. She has missed out on a lot of those activities this year, and she is working really hard to get better so that she can get back to doing all the things she loves.
