Hi, My name is Olga and I'm fundraising for my daughter ANNA's intensive developmental programs and therapies.
ANNA is 4.5 years old child who has been diagnosed with a highly unusual ailment that affects her growth and development including communication called Global Developmental Delay which affects about one in one hundred children.
ANNA was diagnosed one year ago with speech and developmental delays resulting in her being placed on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD, a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain). Since her birth, we have noticed some delays, sleep disorders and unexpected behavior for her age. We put her into private developmental activities, which helped, but didn’t make a life-changing difference for her.
After the diagnosis, ANNA was enrolled in one of the schools for children with special needs in Calgary, Alberta. Also, she has been having private sessions with a speech therapist, psychologist, and occupational therapist. Since then, most of our family income has been going to cover the costs of these programs.
ANNA really likes her activities and responds really well to all professional help.
Last summer we visited our country of origin for 2 weeks and had consultations with specialists from various countries in Europe, who unanimously suggested ANNA would greatly benefit from the intensive developmental programs and therapies available in Eastern Europe that are not available in Canada.
These programs include daily teams sessions with a speech pathologist, a psychologist, an occupational therapist, a massage therapist, swimming therapy, and using neurosensory stimulation (TOMATIS METHOD to capture the brain's attention and to develop motor, emotional and cognitive skills) and ABA therapy (Applied Behaviour Analysis) all of which address Autism (behavioral disorder).
Such intensive programs run for 10-15 days with a 2-4 weeks break in between.
It was strongly recommended ANNA take at least a few full programs/courses and depending on ANNA’s progress results, the specialists might recommend other programs with a long break in between.
We have decided to try this approach to help ANNA and will be enrolling her in these developmental programs over 3 months, starting February 2023 which results in me having to take a 3-month “unpaid” leave of absence from a full-time job in Calgary.
ANNA is very positive and inquisitive child, she likes to learn new things, but sometimes it is challenging for her to memorize them. ANNA enjoys drawing, coloring, singing and going to the swimming pool. We believe that her attitude and aspiration make her a great candidate for the intensive developmental programs and these programs will help to make a big difference for ANNA.
All the programs are very expensive and privately run. If you would like to support ANNA on this journey of intensive developmental programs, all contributions will go towards Anna’s treatment for the various programs.
Please help ANNA to get into the intensive development programs she so desperately needs.
Thank you for taking the time to read about ANNA’s cause.
Any support you can extend is greatly appreciated! Thank you again with all my heart!
