Help us care for our Mother, battling Glioblastoma
Donation protected
Here we are, almost 1 year into our beautiful Mother’s glioblastoma brain cancer diagnosis. It is a miracle that she is with us, and that we get to enjoy her daily exclamation of “We’re together”! She has a unique faith and spirit, which I believe is what has helped keep her with us for this long. Glioblastoma is the most terminal & aggressive of brain cancers, with little advancements made to extend someone’s lifetime. The median survival rate for GBM in patients over 65 years old is around 6 months. It has been a tough road to say the least, but your love as a verb has really helped carry us through. From dropping off treats, homemade soups, flowers and sweet notes, to the ever flowing kind & loving messages checking in... We appreciate you more than words can relay.
I lost my job in January of this year, and moved cross country from Boston back to LA, to be with my Sister in caring for our Mother. We didn’t think we’d be (blessed to be) on this journey so long. With that said, the financial burden continues to grow as time passes. I am very humbled to start this GoFundMe. Giving someone the best care possible & doing so while unemployed for almost a year, is a big layer of stress in this heavy experience. I do believe though that nothing comes our way that we cannot face, head on. A brain cancer diagnosis tips yours & your whole familys’ worlds upside down. From countless holistic supplements, to endless groceries for nutritious meals we make for her, to taking Mom for a night away (locally) here & there for a change of scenery outside of Dr’s appointments (& to make a few more memories together), to all of the bills which aren’t biased & never stop- It’s a lot. When I am in the position to help someone out, I do, so I am putting the opportunity out there for others too.
As cliche as it is, love your people well, and don’t take the little moments for granted; it’s really all we have. We love you deeply, whether you are able to donate, or not
In gratitude,
