On Thursday, 2/20/25, my car was broken into and my mobility aid scooter was stolen out of my trunk. My scooter was the thing that has given me hope and opened my world up again after being confined to my house due to chronic long COVID, POTS, and MCAS, and an inability to stand or walk for long periods of time before getting woozy, nauseous, and out of breath.

I was hoping that my renter's insurance would cover a replacement of my scooter, but they told me in Oregon, mobility aids are considered “motor vehicles” unless they are manually powered without an electric component.

I know times are really hard and funds are low for all of us. But if you have the ability to help me get back in the world, that would be amazing. And if not, please help spread the word.

I try to finance most everything I do for myself and the community and share it widely, but I’m at a loss and need some help and support.
