Hello, my name is Jennifer and my sweet mama, Anna, owns the liquor store at SE 52nd and Powell in Portland, OR and was working when she was robbed on Halloween night at approximately 6:45 pm.

In an effort to “take back” some of what was robbed, I’m told she ran out of the store and followed the 3 or 4 men to their car. Sadly, she reached into the car in a panic and in fight or flight mode to protect her small business and her employees (I know, we all really wish she hadn’t done this). They slammed the car door on her hand, she fell to the ground trapped, and they dragged her through the gravel parking lot before she was able to free her arm and they took off.

She has a traumatic brain bleed, fractured skull, large laceration on the back of her head, five breaks in her femur and hip, broken shoulder and hand, a large laceration on her backside, and a large laceration on her hand. She is awaiting multiple surgeries once the brain bleed stops increasing as she is at too high of a risk for anesthesia at this time. Mom is in the trauma ICU of Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

Please, I beg, will anyone and everyone share this with their larger community. We are trying to find out who did this to her. We have video surveillance from the store that it was three or four young adult men. We are looking for who they are and if anyone got the make/model of the car and license plate. There are detectives involved who are investigating, but my hope is to use this platform as a way to get this spread further.

Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated as my mom faces the enormous amount of medical bills ahead of her. She will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future and out of work indefinitely.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My siblings and I just want our mom to be able to make a recovery. What that looks like, we aren’t sure. Mom is still in very critical condition and the people out there who did this are in our community and need to be held accountable.

Please pray with us for a miracle that our amazing mom, who was in great health and has never had a broken bone in her young 73 years of life, can come through this.
