I am Anna White. I am from Jamaica. I am writing to you because my family and local community have been severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa's destructive force.

Hurricane Melissa wreaked havoc on my home parish of St. Elizabeth on October 28th, leaving behind heartbreaking destruction. My hometown of St. Elizabeth  is among the most severely affected areas, with innumerable families losing homes and means of survival. Roofs were destroyed, farm crops and animals were washed away and now there is barely any means of survival. Roads, schools, churches, farms have been destroyed; food, clean water, and basic medications are becoming scarce.

My family and community is in desperate need of assistance as a result of this disaster. Rebuilding and getting back on track will be greatly aided by any donation.

All funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase:

*Materials to help repair the destroyed homes

*Basic necessities: non-perishable food, clean water, clothing, toiletries

*Necessary prescription drugs and first aid supplies

*Baby supplies and hygiene kits

* Farming supplies
