Help Anna Rebecca Graduate: Your Support Matters

Hi, my name is Anna Rebecca Gonzalez, and I’m in my final semester at Oral Roberts University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. After 4 challenging years, I’m almost at the finish line, but I need your help to get there.

I came to the U.S. from El Salvador with big dreams and determination. I transferred, having earned an A.S. In Business Administration in the American College of my country, with a Bigger dream to ORU, expecting to complete my degree in just two years. But in my sophomore years, then I was told, that eventough all my transfer subjects were accepted, the change of degree to Arts school meant an extra year, totalling three; then the degree plan changed, and I was told I’d need to do an extra year, something my family wasn’t financially prepared for. Since then, it’s been a constant uphill battle to stay in school. Last year, things got so difficult that I almost had to return home before finishing my studies.

Despite asking for help from every resource I could find, I’ve received no additional financial assistance from the university. I’ve worked hard to stay afloat, but now, with graduation around the corner, I’m facing a non-negotiable deadline. I need to raise $5,000 to cover my remaining tuition and my OPT (Optional Practical Training) application so I can legally work after graduation.

This degree means the world to me. I’m not just trying to graduate, but I’m also trying to take the next step in life and work on personal projects and contribute to the workforce in this changing world. I’ve poured my heart into design, and I hope to use my skills to uplift others and create meaningful work.

Asking for help isn’t easy for me. But I’ve realized that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is reach out.
