Support Anna's Battle with Myasthenia Gravis

Hello! My name is Anna and I am a wife and mom of three boys. This last February I started having some pretty severe neurological symptoms. I was trying to work through them but eventually the symptoms started to affect my job. I felt almost as if I had a stroke. I had slurred speech, trouble swallowing, double vision, vertigo, extreme weakness in my arms and legs. Then the hand and arm tremors started. I lost 30lbs in a month and a half. I went from walking and talking and living a normal lifestyle to needing assistance with everything from basic hygiene and moving around with a walking cane. I was eventually diagnosed on April 2nd with Musk Related Myasthenia Gravis. It is a rare Autoimmune disorder which causes a disruption in brain signals to my muscles. It causes extreme weakness and exhaustion. It affects almost every single aspect of my life. My “batteries” are never fully charged and the smallest of activities can wipe me out. I am starting a form of treatment soon. I will be having at home IVIG infusion treatments. I am also on heavy doses of steroids. The side effects are not fun but have at least given me some normalcy again. This is a very life altering diagnosis. I have so many triggers that I have to be aware of at all times. Stress, a simple cold, not enough rest or even getting too hot or cold. I have been to the emergency room once already for aspiration. That is also a very big thing to watch for. At this time we have gone through quite a huge change and unfortunately it is not going to change anytime soon. As I type this, I worry constantly about all the bills piling up on us. Life was already hard financially but now it is impossible. I have had to resign from my good paying job. We are relying heavily on my husband’s income only. His pay is not enough to pay for rent, utilities and car payment. Let alone groceries or basic necessities like toiletries, cleaning supplies and gas. I hate asking for help but I am pretty desperate at this time. All money raised is for our daily survival. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you and God Bless!
