“Not long ago, I was living my dream and riding my bike every day. Today, I am learning how to live again. I am not asking for my past back — I am asking for help to build my future.”
— Anna Kolyzhuk
Anna is a 22-year-old Ukrainian road and track cyclist with the WCC Team. In 2022, she won a silver medal at the UCI Junior Track World Championships. Cycling has shaped her life, her ambitions and the future she was building every day.
On 22 July 2026, during the women’s elite elimination race at the Gran Premi Internazionali di Fiorenzuola – 6 Giorni delle Rose Bianche in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, Italy, Anna was involved in a serious crash. She was airlifted to hospital in Parma, where she underwent surgery after sustaining a serious spinal injury.
Anna now faces a long journey involving specialised rehabilitation and physiotherapy, mobility and adaptive equipment, accessible transport, personal assistance and major adjustments to everyday life.
The initial CHF 100,000 goal will support Anna’s documented treatment, rehabilitation, accessibility and independence needs that are not covered by insurance, public services or institutional support. As coverage and costs are confirmed, we will provide transparent updates and explain how the funds are being used.
This is a personal medical fundraiser following a cycling accident in Italy. It is not connected to the war in Ukraine or to any humanitarian-relief campaign.
I am Matvii Ushakov, Anna’s friend and fellow cyclist, and I am organising this fundraiser with her written permission. Anna Kolyzhuk is now publicly listed by GoFundMe as the sole beneficiary and has completed transfer verification. Once GoFundMe completes this verification, all payouts will go directly to her Swiss bank account. I will not receive or control the funds.
We will publish only information that Anna has approved and will not make unsupported claims about her medical prognosis.
Every contribution will help Anna access the care, equipment and support she now needs. If you cannot donate, please share this official fundraiser with the cycling community.
