UPDATE: Here we are, 6 weeks post-op, and Anna is still very tired a lot of the time. She has a follow-up in August to get the ball rolling with radiation. We’re all really overwhelmed and struggling to coexist because of the stress, and James is struggling big time in school. We’re over $10,000 behind on the mortgage and facing forclosure, $3,000+ behind on the electric bill with the threat of our power being shut off looming, and countless other bills we haven’t been able to pay since Bankers Life let me go in January (I missed too many days - because of my wife’s disability and health issues). As an independent contractor, I was not eligible for unemployment. Yet we still cling to our hope – our faith in Jesus is the thing that gets us through the days and keeps us optimistic. Thank you all for your support in these challenging times.
In December 2019, Anna faced a life-altering diagnosis: a 6.5 cm benign meningioma brain tumor. After three complex surgeries totaling 31 hours, she returned home to recover. Since then, we’ve cherished every moment, but her journey is far from over.
In August 2024, her annual MRI revealed regrowth in multiple areas, including critical spots near her optic nerves that threaten her vision. A January follow-up confirmed concerning growth, prompting a craniotomy on March 28, 2025. Surgery and follow-up radiation aim to provide decades of stability.
Adding to the challenge, Josh was recently let go from his job due to missed work related to these medical issues, and while transitioning to a new role, the unpaid training period limits their income. They are facing mounting medical costs and daily expenses during this critical time.
We’re asking for your help to ensure Anna gets the care she needs without additional financial stress. Your kindness will help them focus on her recovery and their family’s future. Thank you for supporting them.
