Update:
It is with a tremendously heavy heart I update with the outcome we were praying so hard to avoid. Unfortunately Anna is no longer with us. Please pray for the Carrillos as they navigate through this heart breaking loss. They could use our support now more than ever as this has all left such a financial burden still to be faced.
Thank you.
Rest in paradise sweet Anna❤️
Hi friends,
I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend and her incredible family – the Carrillos – who have recently rescued a beautiful, soulful horse named Anna from a slaughterhouse. Anna wasn’t just saved… she became the one who did the saving.
From the moment Anna joined the Carrillo family, she brought healing, light, and purpose – not only to them but to so many in our community. She’s been a source of emotional strength, connection, and peace. For my best friend especially, Anna has been life-changing. She gave her hope when she needed it most.
But now, Anna needs our help.
A devastating rear leg injury has led to weeks of 24/7 care, round-the-clock monitoring, and a heartbreaking emotional and financial rollercoaster for the Carrillo family. After showing promising signs of recovery, a sudden turn revealed a deeper infection – one that has led to discussions of euthanasia. However, there is still hope. The Carrillos are seeking every option, every opinion, to give Anna a fighting chance.
Today, July 14, 2025, the family meets with the vet to discuss final test results and make the hardest decisions any animal lover could ever face.
The cost of care – emergency treatment, medications, tests, constant monitoring – has been overwhelming. But the Carrillos have not given up on Anna. They’ve given everything they have to her, just as they’ve done for others time and time again. If you know this family, you know how much they give – with open hearts, open doors, and tireless support to everyone around them.
Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
We’re raising funds to help ease the heavy financial burden of Anna’s care, support the Carrillos during this incredibly difficult time, and – if possible – give Anna the chance to continue the journey she so bravely began.
Every donation, every share, every kind word matters. Let’s rally around Anna and the Carrillo family and show them they’re not alone.
With deep gratitude,
Micah
