Meet Anna — a fighter, a sister, and a joy to everyone who knows her. At just 5½ weeks old, Anna was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. Doctors said she wouldn’t make it through the night, but she beat the odds. Though she survived, she was left with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), seizure disorder, and profound deafness.

Anna is now 47 years old but functions at about a two-year-old level. She has endured countless challenges, surgeries, and years of therapy, yet she continues to inspire us with her laughter and love. She enjoys horses, sparklers, swimming, watching *Cops* with Kevin (she laughs at all the funny facial expressions!), family walks, and getting her hair cut at The Chop Shop in Danville.

In 2022, Anna suffered a severe fall that left her unable to walk. Since then, transportation has been one of our greatest struggles. Arranging transportation for doctor appointments and labs is challenging and Anna misses out on the simple joys of life — like shopping, going to a movie, or enjoying everyday community activities.

We were able to purchase a used wheelchair-accessible van that gave Anna the independence, dignity, and freedom she deserves. We used the funds collected so far to partially cover the restraints for her chair as the van was missing these. We are currently trying to repair the rust damage that keeps the doir and ramp from functioning properly and the other door will not open at all making it difficult to strap her in. Every donation helps open up her world beyond medical visits and gives her the chance to live more fully.
