Help Anna fight colon cancer, again - and keep hope alive

Hi, I’m Anna - a 56-year-old mom, grandmother, and three-time cancer survivor.

Just a few weeks ago, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear again: “It’s cancer.”

During what I thought would be a routine colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with colon cancer for the third time. This came just months after being laid off from my job of 26 years - and while I’ve faced cancer before, this time is different: I’m navigating a complex, high-cost surgery and extended hospital stay… without the stable income I once had.

That’s why I’m reaching out for help.

The financial stress has been overwhelming. I’m staying strong and positive, but the weight of mounting medical costs and living expenses is becoming more than I can manage alone.

I’m a single mom and a blessed grandmother to a 4-year-old who is the light of my life. My family and friends have been a tremendous emotional support but even with their love, the financial realities of this fight are too great for any one person to shoulder.

This surgery will be a complex 4hours, requiring at least a week in the hospital - which drives costs even higher beyond the surgery itself. On top of that, I’ll face ongoing out-of-pocket expenses for follow-up care, while needing to keep up with basic living expenses, during recovery.

Cancer has been a part of my life for decades: colon cancer in 1999, cervical cancer in 2010, colon cancer again in 2015, and now this third battle in 2025. I have Lynch syndrome, and I’ve fought hard every step of the way - always choosing hope.

Today, I’m choosing hope again… and humbly asking for your help.
