Help Support My Cousin’s Fight Against Stage 3 Colon Cancer with Lymph Node Involvement.
My cousin has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer with positive lymph nodes. Found with a Cologuard test, she had a colonoscopy with a simple surgery planned. During surgery, she was found to have positive lymph nodes, and her ovaries were removed as a precautionary measure. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for our family. Annie is one of the strongest, kindest people I know, and she’s now facing the biggest medical battle of her life. She is the primary caregiver for her 3 grandchildren as they lost their mother, Diana Lynn Simmins, in 2022, Anna’s only daughter. Anna has somehow kept her positive, loving spirits high to give her grandchildren the best home. Anna lost her daughter and best friend. She has the loving support of her husband, Kenneth Rummel, who himself is challenged with COPD. Our family is also navigating melanoma cancer treatment for Annie’s older sister, Joan Waters. The medical costs for our families are rising with now a change in Anna’s treatment plan that was originally not expected.
Unfortunately, many of her medical expenses may not be covered by insurance, and the costs are already overwhelming. Her treatments and related medical bills could reach up to $10,000.
We’re asking for help to make sure she can get the care she needs without the added stress of financial strain. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical costs, medications, and to support her 3 grandchildren.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this message or keeping her in your thoughts and prayers — it truly means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, support, and generosity during this difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
The McNeill-Rummel Family
