Our dear friend Anna is a wonder mum to 4 beautiful children. We have been friends now for close to 2 decades & during this time, I have watched Anna’s combined degenerative conditions worsen to point now where physically accessing life outside of the home is beyond challenging & virtually impossible, without the aide of support or equipment.
Anna is supported by her wonder husband Luke, however as Anna lost the ability to work years ago, Luke spends almost every waking hour working, just to keep the family afloat. Like the vows they took, for better or for worse, Luke is doing what needs to be done to provide for his family.
We are seeking donations to assist the family to purchase a mobility scooter or wheelchair so Anna can enjoy some of the school holidays with her children, accessing places the rest of us take for granted; playgrounds, the local pool, parks and to buy groceries. To be able to spend time with her family outside the family home would bring Anna an immeasurable amount of joy, and without a doubt improve Anna’s current mental health, and overall outlook on life.
For people wondering about why the NDIS isn’t funding this. None of the diagnosed conditions Anna is burdened with, provide for automatic acceptance onto the scheme. It has been a long & expensive task for the family to even pay for the much needed reports/evidence to submit an application, despite having had to wait months, there is still a long road ahead, and anyone with any experience with the NDIS scheme, knows the goal posts are constantly moving. Other more local based schemes have long access waitlist, and we are desperately seeking to fund this modest campaign, so equipment can be provided for Anna to enjoy the holidays with her children now.
We know a lot of families are doing it very tough right now, and appreciate any amount people are able to donate to support Anna and her family.
All donations will be going direct to the family.
