My name is Ann Unger and I never would have thought I’d ever need help with anything. However, on November 12, 2023, my life took a dramatic change. The man I loved and was married to for 23 years, passed away very suddenly turning my and my two children’s lives upside down. Leaving us with most of the income gone, I have persevered to move forward for the sake of my children. With only minimal money left, I pursued a new job as did my teenaged children.

With the help of my local American Legion, members reached out to help with my husband, Mike’s funeral, offering kindness, love, and support. Recently being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, my health has been a roller coaster. With the help of friends and post members, the constant support has been there until a recent setback.

Both my late husband and I served proudly in the military. I continued to carry on his legacy by volunteering and heading a local project for homeless veterans. Unfortunately, I stumbled and fell as I was walking to the facility on a public street curb. Due to the severity of my injuries, I will be out of work, due to a surgery to repair my arm and broken shoulder for 3 or more months. I am terrified to say the least.

My friends suggested that I ask for help through GoFundMe, so I can pay my mortgage, pay monthly bills, and buy groceries for my children and me.

Humbly, I ask for any amount of a donation and needed prayers for this most trying ordeal. Please know my children and I are most grateful.
