Help Ann and Gary Rebuild After Sinkhole Disaster
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tammy Meyer. I am the niece of Ann and Gary Towse. I am starting this GoFundMe to help raise money for my aunt and uncle, whose home has been deemed uninhabitable due to a sinkhole that formed under their home. Unexpected disaster displacement.
On Friday, December 27th, at approximately 6 pm, the first sinkhole opened up in Dixie County, Florida. Their home has since been listed as uninhabitable, unable to enter since Saturday. The home has shifted so much that the doors to the home are stuck and will not open. This happened to be my aunt's and uncle's home. Let me tell you a little about this exceptional lady. Ann is always there to help when needed, no questions asked, whether it's for her family or for the community, and never asks for anything in return.
After Hurricane Helene, which hit multiple states, Ann traveled to take a hot meal to the linemen stationed in Florida out of the kindness of her heart. She is always giving a helping hand and continues to show support wherever she can within her community. In addition to supporting her community, she also touches the hearts of all who meet her. Ann meets no stranger and will give the shirt off her back in a second, without further thought or resistance.
She does have insurance on her home, but we are unsure if this natural disaster will be covered. In addition to taking care of her husband, she also takes care of her dog Chunk and horse Ruby. Due to the unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately, they are not authorized to enter the home due to its instability. The Red Cross has assisted with immediate necessities, and she and her husband are residing with family until further notice.
We want to help in any way possible! No amount is too small; any and all donations will be received with gratitude and grace. Through these difficult circumstances, Ann has never lost hope and faith in our savior Jesus Christ.

UPDATE: A couple days ago, skirting was removed from the back of their home which uncovered a 2nd medium sized sinkhole underneath the home. Individuals have been looking up her name and searching public records for address to travel to location to “View” the hole, therefore, a combination lock was placed on the gate to keep people out. In regard to property insurance: She pays 2x a year for property insurance, the last was February 2024 while in the Hospital. She was told she only owed $63.00 and at the time it was paid over the phone. Her new premium bill should have came out in September 2024, however, the insurance company at no time contacted her nor sent a bill. Instead, they cancelled her insurance policy. She has filed for State Emergency Assistance and FEMA as of today, 01-02-2025.
