Help Ann and Eric Rebuild After Fire and loss of Son.
Donation protected
My beloved friends, Ann and Eric Robinette, lost their home to a fire and their son, Sean, in less than 24 hours.
Ann and Eric are two of the most generous people I've ever met and would never ask anyone for money. However, due to this devastation, their friends and I are hoping to raise an initial $10,000 to go toward personal items and expenses while they find a new home. Additionally, hoping to raise another $5,000 to go toward Sean's burial and memorial service.
Some background: Sean has been sick for a while but was admitted to MU Hospital on January 28. On February 12, he was transferred to Saint Louis University Hospital where he made small improvements until taking a fall and passed away on February 21, 2025.
Earlier that morning, around 1am, Ann couldn't sleep and went downstairs for something. She saw the fire and barely got her and her husband Eric out of the house with the minimal clothes they were wearing, keys for one car, and one cell phone. Neither was wearing shoes and Ann didn't even have her glasses. They called 911 and the firefighters arrived promptly. During the fire fight, the fire captain had a heart attack and they shifted focus to performing CPR (Thankfully he did survive!). Also, due to the extreme cold, the water in the lines started freezing. Both of those things contributed to the decision to let the house burn down completely (For more details, here’s the local news article on the fire).
Ann sustained some injuries to her feet from walking barefoot in the snow but other than that they are fine physically. After being taken to a hotel to shower, they drove to St. Louis to be with Sean until he passed away in the afternoon.
We are heartbroken and cannot imagine the level of grief from such immense devastation. While this amount will not rebuild their lives, we hope it will help offset some of the most immediate costs.
Thank you for giving to our second family.
