Help Anita and Mark Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Unfortunately, my wonderful parents - Anita Onofrio and Mark Chute - are in the middle of a challenging time. Multiple buildings on their property burned to the ground, and the fire jumped to their house before it was ultimately put out by firefighters, causing significant structural and smoke damage. Losses included my mother's "shop", which displayed pottery and goods of my mother's, and a gallery displaying antiques and sculptural art of my father's. Additional losses include their e-bikes, kayaks, their generator (which is vital, given that they live off-grid and need backup to the solar system when there isn't enough sun power available), and a lifetime of collected tools and odds and ends. While they are incredibly thankful to be alive and to have most of the house standing, they are at the beginning of a daunting rebuilding process (and they're displaced from their house until everything in the house and the house itself can be treated for smoke damage). Insurance will cover some of the damage, but they know that there are some things that will not be covered (including a very expensive generator). They are so fortunate to have the supportive Strafford community, and to have wonderful friends and family, many of whom are reaching out to ask how they can help. If you feel moved to help financially, any donations are welcome, and know that they, and our whole family, share gratitude from the bottoms of our heart.
